The Mistina facing stones, split face "Incertum" take their name from the Latin "incertus", meaning "irregular". This name describes their naturally irregular appearance and raw texture, obtained by splintering natural stones.
This technique gives each stone a unique face with non-uniform contours, which creates a remarkable aesthetic effect when assembled.
